Fwd: Discovery Place Today We...

From Colin's class:

Today Ms Aimee told a story about a Big Pumpkin while everyone used flashlights to illuminate our tent. We have been reading the story so much lately that the kids have gotten really good at helping fill in the banks when we pause. It is very typical for kids this age to request a story be repeated over and over. The repetition of the story helps the kids learn to anticipate what come next and builds their understanding of written text. They are so tickled when they can help us "read" a story.

We continued working on marble paintings and exploring boxes. Deema and Gage Stepich played hide and seek with the boxes. Jaren and Trae used a box as a slide to roll things down. Cooperation and interaction are some of the most valuable things they are learning in preschool. The pictures don't always capture the interactions but we are seeing those social skills grow in class everyday.
