It always amazes me how fascinating small objects and containers are to children. The simple tasks of pushing items into the containers, pulling the lid off, pouring the objects out, and snapping the lid back on are great fine motor skills. However, the best thing about these simple but important activities is their ability to instill a sense of accomplishment. The pride on each of the kids faces when they were able to pull the lid off or finally get it to snap back on was wonderful. The activity was such a hit that Aimee and I spent our planning time making new and different containers it try later this week. It will be exciting to see how many variations of this activity we can come up with, and which ones the kids are most interested in. I'm sure that this will continue to amaze us :)
