The children are just not ready to move on to something other than Zoo
Animals, so we have just continued with activities revolving around
that general theme. We have added some ocean animal activities to the
mix, and will continue to plan around animals as long as the interest
holds. One thing the children can't get enough of is "Going On A Lion
Hunt". It is a fun story/song that we read EVERY day by request! We
have been on lion hunts through the hallways and around the school.
Perhaps next week I will put some paw prints down for us to follow ...
We did some sponge painting with ocean shapes and sang "All the Fish"
today. We have been heading out to the playground early to avoid the
worst of the heat and humidity. One morning we discovered that our
toad friend returned to visit us again. The children worked hard to
catch him and hold on as he jumped so high. He even jumped out of the
biggest bucket we could find. The toad to tease us by jumping back and
forth through the fence. We felt the rough skin on his back, the
smooth skin on his belly, gave him a bit of a "bath" and counted his
toes before letting him go on his way.
Have a great weekend,
Candy
