Fwd: pics 6.27 and water play

From Colin's class,

One of our favorite stories to read is Going On A Lion Hunt adapted by Marjory Cuyler. One of our student teachers, Ms. Korrina, played a version of the song and led us on a bear hunt this morning. The children pantomimed the actions in the song/story (climbing a tree, rowing a boat, running) and then went outside to hunt for bears. We found lots of them on our playground!

Trae and Tayten pushed baby dolls in the toy strollers. While zooming around, we pretended we were taking the babies to the zoo. We had fun pointing out and naming the different animal pictures posted on our walls and the floor.

We also painted with washable poster paints. The children are beginning to make deliberate brush strokes and marks on their papers. They are showing an interest in choosing which colors to use and precisely where to put those colors. Madeline likes to talk about the way she is painting ... "dot, dot, dot" or "side to side". It is so interesting for us to see the changes in the way the children use different art media as they grow and mature.

The collage from our water play day yesterday is also attached below.

Have a great day,
Candy
